Exciting leadership updates for the 2025–2026 school year

Dear Wareham School Community,

I am pleased to share some exciting leadership updates for the 2025–2026 school year.

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Sara Russo has been selected as the new principal of Wareham Middle School. Dr. Russo has been an integral part of our district since 2016, serving as assistant principal at Wareham Elementary School. Her deep understanding of our community, combined with her extensive experience in school administration, curriculum development, and fostering collaborative school cultures, makes her well-prepared to lead the middle school. Dr. Russo’s leadership experience also includes administrative roles in Florida, where she served as an assistant principal and district curriculum specialist.

We are also excited to announce that Mr. Daniel Sylvestre has been hired as the new principal of Wareham Elementary School. Mr. Sylvestre brings with him a wealth of experience as an educational leader. Most recently, he served as principal of Park Elementary School in Warwick, Rhode Island, which earned recognition as a National Blue Ribbon School in 2023. Over his career, Mr. Sylvestre has held principal and assistant principal roles in Marshfield and Plymouth, where he focused on building strong school communities, supporting instructional growth, and improving student outcomes.

Both Dr. Russo and Mr. Sylvestre bring outstanding experience, vision, and dedication to their roles. We are confident they will make a significant impact on their respective schools and the entire district.

Please join me in welcoming Mr. Sylvestre to Wareham and congratulating Dr. Russo on her new role.

Sincerely,

Matthew D'Andrea, LP.D.
