Dear Wareham Families,
Wareham Public Schools is in continual contact with local, state and federal health departments and agencies for guidance and will post information on our website.
The public is encouraged to take everyday preventive actions that are always recommended to prevent the spread of respiratory viruses, including the flu.
Recommended suggestions:
- Avoid close contact with sick people. While sick, limit contact with others as much as possible.
- It is also important for students and staff to stay home if symptomatic with a fever. Students should not return to school until they are fever-free for 24 hours. Cover nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way. Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated.
- Frequently wash hands with soap and water for 1 minute. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub with at least 60% alcohol.

Our school nurses are very happy to answer any questions which you may have regarding the precautions we are taking to keep our students healthy.
Sincerely,
Dr. Kimberly B. Shaver-Hood
