Dear Wareham Families,

As we head into the final week of school before the holidays, I wanted to take a moment to thank all of those in the school community who have given of their time and resources to help make the holiday season a little brighter for those less fortunate. The spirit of giving is alive and well in Wareham, and the outpouring of kindness toward others is truly heartwarming.

In Wareham, there are heroes among us. I would like to recognize the tremendous efforts of Decas teachers, Michelle Skolnik and Manny Borges and Decas school nurse, Sheila Braley, in helping to save a student’s life through their quick actions administering CPR and contacting the EMTs. Life can change in an instant and emergencies can happen when you least expect it, and this Decas team jumped immediately into life-saving mode when a crisis arose. We are extremely thankful to these Decas heroes and commend them for their courageous actions.

This week, we received the official vote of the Massachusetts School Building Authority for the Elementary School Building Project. We are grateful to all who have provided their time, effort, and expertise to assist in this project thus far and are excited for the future of Wareham.

I would also like to remind Wareham families that next Friday will be a half day of school, as students depart for their holiday break.

Best wishes for a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kimberly Shaver-Hood
