Dear Wareham Families,

This afternoon, Governor Baker announced that all schools in the Commonwealth close until May 4, 2020.

We miss seeing our students and staff members and would much rather be in school, but right now, our priority must be the health and wellbeing of all citizens. So, we plan to continue and expand online academic opportunities for your children.

If your child cannot access work that is provided, please contact your child’s building principal. Please make arrangements to obtain packets of lessons for your child to work on during this time.

I realize this is a very stressful time for many reasons. Some of the questions I have been asked revolve around high school activities – Prom, Honor’s Night, and Graduation. As of now, there have not been any decisions to cancel or postpone these events. I assure you, our principals will seek input before making any decisions.

We are not the same without our students. I hope they know how much we miss and care about them. Please make sure they are connecting with their teachers, counselors, and administrators at their schools. We know that there is nothing better than face-to-face instruction; however, we hope that through this, we become stronger.

Please stay safe and healthy,

Dr. Kimberly B. Shaver-Hood
