Elementary Building Project Update

Dear Wareham Families,

The Elementary Building Project received an affirmative vote from the MSBA (Massachusetts School Building Authority) this past Wednesday as the MSBA board voted to approve submitted plans.  The project will proceed into schematic design as we seek to replace both the Minot Forest Elementary and the John W. Decas Elementary Schools with one new elementary building.

Our proposed new school will be a three floor structure and will be located on the current footprint of the Minot Forest Elementary.  Our new school will house students, Pre-K to grade 4.

The District will be asking the Board of Selectmen to place the vote to approve one elementary school on both the Town Meeting agenda and as a ballot question for the November election.

I urge you to visit Wareham Elementary School Building Project on Facebook for more information about this exciting project.   You are also invited to attend the Elementary Building Committee meeting on July 9th in room 228 of the Multi Service Center beginning at 5:30.  And of course, I am available by email or telephone to answer any questions which you may have about our new school project.
