Exactly what is a Web Quest? It is a teaching and learning activity that incorporates the use of the Internet. Students take on a role and search for information. Working with others they share information to reach a conclusion, or to compile a report. Check out the Web Quests below for ideas.

Other Web Based Learning Tools

Web Quests require students analyze, synthesize, and use other higher order learning tools. For other types of web based learning tools visit the web site Filamentality. You will be able to create the following:

• Hotlist--A list of web sites on a specific topic.
• Subject Sampler--Teacher selects web sites on a topic and creates questions from content on those sites. The teacher matches questions with one site.
• Treasure Hunt--The teacher selects sites on a topic, creates questions, and students must decide which of the selected site has the answer.
• Web Quest--Students work together to solve a problem or come to a conclusion. They work in groups in which each person is assigned a particular role.

CyberTours

CyberTours is the name of software available from Tramline. It consist of a panel to view the web site, a smaller panel to provide narrative, and a small panel with navigation buttons.
