Curriculum and Instruction Department

The Office of Curriculum and Instruction's primary role is to guide the schools to educate all students in an equitable manner through an organized program of instruction designed to meet the standards and achieve excellence in all areas of academics. To this end it provides leadership in the development of curriculum, instruction and assessment.

The projects that the office oversees include:

  • Curriculum Development
  • Professional Development
  • Assessment
  • Reporting
  • Grants
  • Afterschool, Extended Day and Summer School programs
  • Supervision of the Core Instructor program

The Wareham Public School Mission

"...to educate all students for life's responsibilities, challenges and opportunites."

Wareham's curriculum is based on the Massachusetts Frameworks. From these frameworks, teachers work to develop curriculum guides as well as Grade Level Expectations guides. Recently developed curriculums include Elementary Technology Curriculum (1-5), Cape Verde Curriculum (K-12) and the Social & Emotional Learning Curriculum (K-12).

Curriculum guidelines formed by school committees and approved by the State of Massachusetts: English Language, Science, Math (Rubicon Atlas)
